 Sunrise DesertNamed as such because there is where the sun first rises, the Sunrise Desert is not as harsh as the Great Sand Sea, but it also poses many dangers for the unprepared traveler. It is home to Sunagakure no Sato and the Bloody Rock Forest. Northeastern Land of Wind.

SunagakureSunagakure (砂隠れの里, Sunagakure no Sato, Literally meaning: Village Hidden by Sand) is the hidden village of the Land of Wind. As the village of one of the Five Great Shinobi Countries, Sunagakure has a Kage as its leader known as the Kazekage. Sunagakure's First Kazekage was Shin Kazehana. Being surrounded by desert offers the village a natural deterrent against invasion, as few foreign powers are willing to endure the sandstorms and water scarcity common to Suna. Sunagakure itself lies in a fortified valley behind cliffs of rock, with passage in and out of the village restricted to a single cleft between two cliff faces, making the area very hard to attack from the ground. The buildings inside are mostly made of clay or stucco, which helps to keep the buildings cool.

Miracle OasisThe Miracle Oasis is a large lake in the middle of the Great Sea Sand that once was home to the first civilization who settled this desert. Now covered in the ruins left by these people, it is still home for many fearsome animals who hide beneath and inside these buildings. It is also said to be home to bandits exiled from the northern tribes. Despite its dangerous reputation, it is still very much a life saviour for the thirsty traveller.
