Every couple of moths Konoha's administration team seeks new ways to improve Konoha's military performance. Recently they've been pleased with the results of their bimonthly mandatory 'survival exercises' which consisted of Jounin being paired up for a lengthy match until either one submits or is unable to continue. Those participating had access to the best medicare Konoha offered post-combat, and wound up walking home with the same way their day started regardless of what cuts, burns, or broken bones they may suffer. Though when it comes fights with Jounin, serious injuries like that were fairly rare. A lot of ninja develop power in the later years of Genin and Chuunin, however what separates them from the average Jounin is the control and wisdom the experienced fighter has. Knowing the effectiveness of one's own abilities and when something is going to land was paramount for kidnapping missions to friendly spars.

Luna was at her designated training field early dressed in her day-to-day outfit rather than sporting her more militarized combat combat gear. She figured the threat of injury wasn't too great, despite the stories she heard and the medical services Konoha provided for the event; she was confident in her own abilities to not get hurt too much. Given her meager frame, she was considered below average in Taijutsu output, though her performance was a different story. The answer was real simple: Luna simply didn't like physical training. She maintained a decent routine to maintain her muscles, though she was never considered strong by any means. Due to how little action her body received in physical training, she needed to strength like any normal person does to get her into fighting shape. She could be seen performing a series of active stretches in the field by herself in order to limber up. Though while she was waiting, she didn't let her guard down.

Yosuke, on the other hand might be a tad bit more arrogant when it came to the partnering up of Jounin. He found it a waste of time to be squaring off against another Jounin than to actually being more productive. He just saw it as a measuring contest of who's better, and less of the training potential behind it. He would understand the new for exercises like these for Genin and perhaps Chuunin, but Jounin had serious responsibilities that they couldn't just go around sparring whenever they felt like it, or at least, that's how Yosuke felt. Regardless, as per the administration's order, he played ball and made his way to the training field.

If one were to spot Yosuke, they would notice a 6'2" toned male with red hair, often spiked but in this case, laid down and messy. There was a little bit of stubble but just barely there, hinting that he had shaved recently. He wore a black jumpsuit with leather arm and shin guards, with the bottom of his feet being covered in black sandals. A crossbow was attached to his back in a baldric, a quiver with 10 arrows, and a hip pouch around his hip that carried the rest of his tools.

He finally came along, seeing his partner for the day. He made a crack of his knuckles, and then stretches his upper body forward just by a tad bit, letting out a small crack that way as well. It was a poor stretch compared to the active ones Luna were doing. "Let's get this out of the way, I'm Yosuke Kuramoto. I'll treat this seriously, but I would rather have this done sooner than later." he'll give respect to the effort people have put in for this event, but he still disagrees with it needing to be a thing in the first place.

Stretches were important for the inactive Jounin, seeing as she spent most of her time in an office or training the next generation. The times she'd actually risk straining herself were rare. Although she was busy limbering up she didn't dare leave herself unaware as a natural habit having served enough time. Needless to say, Yosuke's arrival was expected and reacted upon. Heavy steps crushed the grass beneath his feet as the burly man made no effort to appear nimble or show any guile. Luna stopped, having stretched enough and straightened her posture looking over her shoulder to see Yosuke. Definitely a brawler of sorts...but he seems a bit too stout to be entirely Taijutsu. Maybe proficient in Ninjutsu or Genjutsu given his lack of equipment suggesting otherwise. It was an educated guess, but something that would help shape her plan of attack when their spar started.

And Luna figured it wouldn't be long, as her partner this month seemed impatient. Her shoulders sagged as she felt a bit deflated given the man's fairly pessimistic attitude. "Oh...alright. I'm Luna Yamamoto, a Jounin and General Skills instructor at the Academy. I teach the three basic ninja arts, and as you'd expect, have mastery over them. So expect a handful of everything thrown at you." But she didn't smile. She instead tried to reflect the same mood she received from Yosuke. Her face was expressionless and tone unmotivated— just like his.

She'd approach Yosuke at a moderate walking pace standing just a few feet short before extending her right arm and placing the flat of her palm against his chest. The moves were done casually to not raise alarm, and truthfully there were no hostile intentions behind her actions. Being at arm's length she pivoted on her heels to face the opposite direction and began taking comically large step, counting them softly beneath her breath as she was audible with each step. "...one...two...three...four.....five...six...seven..." until she reached a distance of ten meters between the two. She'd then turn to face Yosuke. "Well...you wanted to get this over with. I'm ready when you are." Luna stood at range, though with her arms at her sides and posture slightly hunched she appeared unmotivated and to not take the spar and her opponent, Yosuke, seriously.
